The recent G7 Summit held in Japan raised the controversy that Should Obama apologize for the US Nuclear attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Obama’s failure to apologize over Hiroshima will bolster those who don’t want to acknowledge Japan’s role in atrocities in the Second World War, according to Martyn Smith, senior teaching fellow at the Japan Research Centre at London’s Sosa. US president made a historic visit to the Hiroshima, the city which suffered an Atomic Attack on 6th Aug 1945 which resulted in a catastrophe like situation. Hiroshima survivor Eiji Hattori says Obama’s remarks count as an apology even if he didn’t say sorry. Furthermore the best effect of President Obama’s visit to Hiroshima is how Japan will not have to apologize to China and South Korea again. America will show that there is no need to apologize for the past war. The Important aspect which is the outcome of this visit is nuclear Disarmament and arms control. USA after cold war under the START Treaty reduced Stockpiles of nuclear weapons. Recent declassified data shows that President Obama made fewer reductions in nuclear arsenal than any other US Presidents after cold war. Also US Plan to modernize their nuclear will cost around USD 1 TN extended over 30 years. But this historical visit might strengthen Obama's Dream of world without Nuclear Weapons. The effects of nuclear weapons were witnessed by US president when he met the survivors of Hiroshima Atomic Attack. US president should be the frontrunner to cut the nuclear arsenal to the minimum so that the gap between haves and have nots be minimized. Also during the G7 summit one of the agendas was the threat from Climate Change and Counter terrorism, here its pertinent to mention that the threat looming large from nuclear terrorism be addressed by the world community and a complete disarmament of nuclear weapons is the need of the hour.
