Prof Sikender Kumar of the Economics Department of Himachal Pradesh University is set to be new Vice-Chancellor of the university.The Himachal Pradesh University was founded on July 22, 1970. It is located at Summer Hill which is at a distance of 5 kms from the main town, Shimla The post of VC has been lying vacant for more than 14 months after the expiry of the term of Prof ADN Bajpai on May 24, 2017, and Pro Vice-Chancellor is holding the charge.
About Himachal Pradesh University : The Himachal Pradesh University was founded on July 22, 1970. It is located at Summer Hill which is at a distance of 5 kms from the main town, Shimla. It is wholly financed by the government of Himachal Pradesh and the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.
Objective :
1. To promote awareness amongst the students and teachers and understand their social requirements and needs 2. To broadcast and advancement the knowledge /understanding through teachings and researches 3. To bestow knowledge upon the students by extension of courses and programs offered in different fields 4.
