Himachal CM launches ‘Mukhyamantri Alpsankhayak Kalyan Yojana’
The Himachal Government is committed for the welfare and development of the minority section of the society so that they could get equal opportunities for development. This stated by the Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the gathering at Chamba after launching the “Mukhyamantri Alpsankhayak Kalyan Yojana” for ensuring welfare of the minority section of the society. Under Mukhyamantri Alpsankhayak Kalyan Yojana marriage grant of Rs. 25000 would be provided to the girls belonging to poor Muslim families, Rs. 5000 financial assistance would be provided for medical treatment to poor Muslim family and social security pension of Rs. 400 per month would be provided to old, widows and physically challenged Muslim persons being given through Waqf board.
Jai Ram Thakur ( CM ) said the minority section of the State has played an important role in the development of the State. Chief Minister said the State Government would also provide adequate space for burial ground (Kabristan) of the Muslims communities and all the Deputy Commissioners would be asked to identify adequate land. In Cabinet meeting of the State Government, decision was made to reduce the age limit for getting old age pension from the existing 80 years to 70 years. This decision of the State Government has benefitted about 1.30 lakh old people of the State. CM said that this decision of the State Government was a token of respect to the old people of the State. The Chief Minister announced to construct Gujjar Bhawan in Chamba as soon as suitable land was identified.
