Himachal Pradesh government has decided to re-name the Mukhya Mantri Adarsh Vidya Kendra Scheme launched by the State Government as Atal Adarsh Vidya Kendra and Mukhya Mantri Aashirwad Scheme as Atal Aashirwad Scheme. In memory of former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the State Cabinet has decided to construct a memorial at Manali and a statue of him at the Ridge or Mall in Shimla.
The Cabinet in its meeting held here today under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur expressed grief over the sad demise of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who passed away on 16 August, 2018. While passing the condolence resolution, the Cabinet lauded the contributions of Atal Bihari Vajpayee for the Nation in general and for the State in particular.
The Cabinet decided to send a proposal to the Union Government to rename Kol Dam project in the name of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and passed a resolution to request Union Government to name Rohtang Tunnel in the name of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The idea to construct strategic important Rohtang tunnel connecting landlocked hinterland Lahaul valley with rest of the world was conceived in 1998 by Vajpayee and the project was announced by him on June 3, 2000. The project is now nearing at its completion. During his tenure as the prime minister, Vajpayee had given the approval for the Rohtang Tunnel project, which aimed at providing an all-weather connectivity to the isolated Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh.
Cabinet also approved a proposal to install a life-size statue of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Shimla’s historic Ridge and sent a proposal to the Centre to name the upcoming strategic Rohtang Tunnel after the late BJP leader. The Cabinet appreciated his special benevolence for the State of Himachal Pradesh and its people, on whom he showered his love and affection by giving approval and sanction to various mega projects, of which the people had not even dreamt. The Cabinet also decided to send a proposal to the Union Government to rename Kol Dam project in the name of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Mukhya Mantri Adarsh Vidya Kender Yojna : Under this new scheme, one model residential school will be established in each constituency, where Navodya schools and Eklavya Schools do not exist. Education will be free of cost with hostel facilities available at such schools.
Mukhyamantri Adarsh Vidya Kendra Scheme will be launched with an allocation of Rs. 25 crore for under which 10 residential schools will be constructed.
Mukhya Mantri Aashirwad Yojna : Under this new scheme all new born will be provided a baby kit worth Rs.1500 in addition a cash incentive of Rs. 700 to the mother for every institutional delivery. • The announcement of the scheme was officially made by the CM himself while addressing the meet on 71st celebration event of the Himachal Day. As per the statements made the scheme is made for benefiting the local people of the state. • The scheme will help in encouraging more number of expected mothers and family members within the state to opt for institutional delivery process in state hospitals. • To educate the people related to institutional delivery system the state government has announced to distribute a baby kit for the new born child at the time of delivery in hospital for free. • The government has also announced that the distribution will be done to new born babies under which each child will be entitled for Rs 1500 worth baby kit that will be given away as token of appreciation by the state government. • With an aim to help encourage more number of expected mothers to opt for institutional deliveries the government has also announced to offer a financial assistance of Rs 700 each beneficiary that will be handed over to the expected mother who has delivered the baby at the state hospital. • The financial assistance will be offered to the beneficiary in the form of subsidy assistance given directly by the state government as appreciation for encouraging institutional delivery of the new born baby. • For encouraging long term benefit of the scheme the government has also announced that the benefit will be offered to both mother and child under the scheme every year. With the new implementation the state government aims at educating and encouraging pregnant women for undergoing institutional delivery that is much safe for both mother and child health.
