Haryana Goernment launched Saudamini Centre for women empowerement

With a view to facilitating and empowering women,Haryana Chief Minister has accorded approval for setting up Saudamini Centre, Siwah, in Panipat, Haryana.

Facts :

• Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has accorded approval for setting up women skill centre, Siwah, in Panipat district at an estimated cost of Rs 3.45 crore.
• The multi-service resource centre would be set up at Rajiv Gandhi Khel Parisar, Siwah, which would hold training programmes for skill development and empowerment of rural women.
• It would have a library, fitness and computer centre.
• It would run in co-ordination with Sports and Technical Education Department.

Analysis :

• It aims at poverty alleviation by facilitating skill development through well-structured market-oriented programmes that can make the poor and unskilled employable as wage workers or successful micro-entrepreneurs.
• It also envisages promoting economic growth and contribution of the urban economy to National GDP by ensuring a supply of appropriate skilled womanpower at the lower end, thus enabling inclusive growth.
• This program embodies the approach of eradicating poverty amongst the most neglected segment of society.
• This will provide employable skills, facilitating home-based income generating activities and developing market linkages.
