Capital Ranchi will roll out a public cycle sharing scheme, aimed at promoting eco-friendly travel options as a part of Ranchi Smart City project, by the end of November.Around 60 cycle stations are almost complete in various parts of the city. As many as 600 cycles will be launched from these stations on two routes. The aim is to provide commuters an environment-friendly mode of conveyance using, which they can reach even bylanes without causing traffic congestion. Imported bicycle parts from Germany have landed at Haldia port in Bengal and are now being brought to Ranchi. The private agency assigned the task has assured us that the two-wheelers would be assembled and the service launched in November.

Air pollution cause many health issues. It is found that CO2 is a good transmitter of sunlight, but it also partially restricts infrared radiation going back from the earth into space, which produces the greenhouse effect that prevents a drastic cooling of the Earth during the night. Increasing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere strengthens this effect and is expected to result in a warming of the Earth's surface. Air pollution has harmful impact on plant life. Sulphur di oxide is considered as most harmful pollutant.
Air pollution monitoring is very necessary to control pollution. These techniques collect data by scientists to enable them to make informed decisions to manage overall quality of environment.
