Haryana to set up Adventure Sports Academy

The Haryana Government has decided to constitute the Haryana Academy of Adventure Sports as a society under the Haryana Registration and Regulation of Societies Act, 2012 at Morni in Panchkula District.

Facts :

• The Chief Minister will be the Patron-in-Chief of the Society, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister will be the President and Administrative Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs will be the Vice-President of the Society.
• This academy would offer opportunities to the youth of Haryana to train and excel in all forms of adeventure sports.
• A training school would also be opened to promote adventure sports in the state.
• The aims and objectives of the Society are to initiates, encourage, promote and develop adventure sports in Haryana along with creation of training facilities for adventure sports and to develop quality adventure sports infrastructure.
• It would also undertake creation of adventure ground sports training facilities in mountaineering, car races, aero sports training facilities in para-gliding, hang-gliding, hot air ballooning, wind, surfing, sky diving etc.
• The Academy may undertake setting up of adventure sports training centres, academies, satelite centres, base camps etc. and coordinate with adventure sports training institutions in the country and abroad; promote youth activities for national integration through adventure sports in terms of cultural and social cohesion and study the cultural heritage, flora and fauna of different areas.
• It will also execute and develop various training programmes, adventure sports academic programmes on scientific lines in different adventure sports disciplines and training in using high-quality and modern adventure sports equipment for coaching, practice and during excursions; develop training facilities for resue and recovery of players stressed, strained, physically suffered during adventure activity including first aid and injury management.
• Besides, it may provide bursaries or fellowships to assist individuals in pursuing advance training for excellence in adventure sports and encourage the private sector to contribute financially to the development of adventure sports training facilities; aid, assist and cooperate with any individual, group, organisation, institution, corporate body interested in furthering the improvement in adventure sports through coaching and training.
• The registered office of the Society will be at Panchkula in the premises of Director of Sports and Youth Affairs and it will work within the territory of the State.
