HP Govt to focus on ease of doing business

With the Himachal state continuing to lag behind at the 17th position nationally in the ease of doing business (EoDB) initiative, the state government was now focusing on enhancing its score. Its position has remained unchanged at 17th position while the neighbouring Haryana topped the slot and Uttarakhand was placed at the 10th position in the latest ranking released for 2017.
With 90.88 per cent score, issues like tardy pace of single window clearance mechanism and availability of land continued to be the stumbling blocks fetching the state a low score. The state had attained an overall score of 65.48 in 2016.
Among the key initiatives introduced by the state which have fetched it higher points include access to information and transparency enablers, construction permit enablers and environmental registration enablers.
