The Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved the Haryana State Shubhra Jyotsna Pension and Other Facilities Scheme, 2018, which would be made applicable from November 1, 2017. Under the scheme, a monthly pension of Rs 10,000 would be given to those residents who had actively participated during the Emergency, from June 25, 1975, to March 21, 1977, and faced imprisonment under the Maintenance of Internal Security Act, 1971, and Defence of India Act, 1962.
Other decisions: • Honorary post of HCS and HPS officers to gold medallists of Olympics, Asiad and Commonwealth Games • Land of Nawada Tigaon panchayat given on 33-year lease of Re 1 per year to Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India to set up a centre • Land of Bohali panchayat in Panipat given to Indian Oil Corporation Limited for setting up second generation ethanol plant • Exchange of shamlat land of Bhareli panchayat in Panchkula with equal piece of land belonging to some individuals since private land is being used as passage for Government Senior Secondary School in Bhareli • Sale of land in Mauja Punhana, Punhana tehsil, to Higher Education Department for construction of a girls’ college. • Technical Education Department renamed as the University of Science and Technology
