 The Nobel Prize is one of the most prestigious awards given to people or institutions for their outstanding work in the fields of medicine, physics, chemistry, literature, peace and economics. The Nobel Prizes are awarded annually on the death anniversary of Alfred Nobel. Known as the founder of dynamite, Alfred Nobel did not want to be remembered as the merchant of death. Therefore, to regain control of his legacy, he willed his fortune to create an award that would recognize people who had made positive contributions to mankind.
