The CSO recently released the data pertaining to the growth rate of India’s GDP for the financial year 2015-16. As per the data, the economy grew at the rate of 7.6% in the last year while in the last three months of the f.y. (i.e. Jan to Mar), it grew at 7.9%, beating even China’s growth rate of 6.7%. While these figures are bringing optimism, there are economists and international organisations that doubt this figure and are questioning its calculation methodology.
