Haryana signed 10 MoUs with UK for various projects

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said ten Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) have been signed with United Kingdom (UK) for various projects and initiatives that would not only catalyze investment worth Rs 1500 crore to the state but also provide direct employment to about 1000 persons.

Important MOUs Signed :

  • A MoU has been signed with the University of Birmingham for promoting research and collaborative activity in the area of Agriculture including cold energy through exchange programs, academic workshops and seminars, education and training.
  • The delegation led by CM held a meeting with Transport for London (TfL) which provided a broader perspective for implementation of a successful City Transport System for a growing city like Gurugram. A team from Haryana led by the Transport Minister or Transport Secretary would be tasked to visit UK to understand the principles and seek collaboration with TfL for developing a comprehensive Transport System for Gurugram, Faridabad and other urban areas in Haryana.
  • The State would adopt best practices from the National Health Scheme of UK and the Transport for London besides collaborating with the Universities and Colleges for skill development programs.There is a huge investment possibility of Johnson Matthey and India UK Health Institutes.
  • An MoU has also been signed with WKCIC Group for undertaking collaboration in skill development in Haryana. The Central City College Group in London runs an array of academic and vocational courses for 16-18 year-old and adult learners, such as A-Levels, BTECs, Apprenticeships, Foundation Degrees, Access to Higher Education, employability training and short courses.
  • The delegation has explored the possibility of collaboration with the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre at Sheffield for setting up a facility in Haryana which would lead to influx of major players like Rolls Royce, Metaltech, Mclaren and Boeing.
  • This is for the first time ever any State delegation has travelled beyond London and reached out to manufacturing centres like Leeds, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Birmingham.
  • Similarly, proposal for setting up multi-super specialty tertiary care hospital and other services in Haryana was discussed in a meeting with Indo UK Institute of Health. Options for various sites for their project and related matters were discussed and clarified.
  • Six MoUs were signed during a meeting with Lord Raj Loomba at the House of Lords. These included MoUs with :

a).Pontaq (UK India Innovation Fund): focusing on Fintech, Smart Cities and Emerging Technologies
b).UK India Global Business Limited for promoting technology transfer, support services and establishing UK/European Companies especially focused on Aerospace and Defence Sectors
c).Xelba Limited and AU Capital Partners Limited for undertaking Internet of Things (IOT) initiative and setting up a Development Centre at Gurugram with an investment of 10 million pound sterling and manufacture of IoT hardware with an investment of 50 million pound sterling (Rs 550 crore)
d).GoodBox for outsourcing of manufacturing and services, Technology operations and development and Service and Tech Call Centre to Haryana
e).ZapGo for transfer of Technology for Energy Storage devices and setting up of manufacturing facility in India
f).RelmaTech for Technology development of Remote ID and Tracking Systems for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and contract manufacturing of UAS.
