 International Fairs  in Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh is basically land of God, every year so many festivals are celebrated in which some are declared as International festival. These festivals are celebrated in the different part of the state. The details are given below regarding the festivals and fairs . The fairs which are declared International Fairs are Minjar Fair, Lavi Fair, Renuka Fair, Dussehra Fair and Shivratri Fair.

Lavi Fair, Rampur Busshar ( Shimla distt. )

This is one of the oldest trade fair of the country which was stated in the 16th century between the king of the Bussher and the Tibet. This fair came every year in the month of the October and continues for the several days. When firstly this fair was started then the king Kehri Singh of the Busshar and Tibet king exchanged the horses and other weapons. But now a days when it started than the people of the Rampur sells the dry fruits, People from other areas in general and tribal belt in particular participate in this fair with horses, mules, pashminas, colts, yaks, chilgoza, namdas, pattis, woolens, raw semi-finished wool and other dry fruits produced in the state are brought for selling. It is three hundred years old fair and also a state fair. woollen clothes and other things. Peoples of the both country participated in the fair and enjoy the fair, in night cultural program takes places.
Bushahr is about 150km from the Shimla.

Dusshera Fair, Kullu

This festival is celebrated over all parts of the country but it is very famous in Kullu district. When this festival is ended in all parts than in Kullu this festival begins and continues for the 9 days. The main attraction of the festival is its Yatra of the local Devi and Devta's of Kullu. Behind this festival there is very interesting story which the people of the kullu say. This festival came every year in the month of October. It is said when the king of kullu is cursed by the some rishi then he said to his servant to take the idol of the Raghu from the Ayodhya, but when people of Ayodhya see that idol is not in the temple than they search it and found the people with the idol in the valley of Kullu. So they decided to take back to Ayodhya but they aren't able to take because it becomes very heavy and when it is taken to the Kullu than it becomes easier after that this festival begins in the memory of Raghu. The fair started in 1651 at Dhalpur ground.

Mandi Shivratri Fair

This festival is also celebrated across all part of the country but it is very famous in Mandi. The main attraction of the fair is its Yatra of Gods which is taken across the market of the Mandi. This festival is basically Lord Shiva's festival, in which all the temple of Lord Shiva's are celebrating and they drink special liquid called "Ghota" which is a mixture of Milk, water, Marijuana and sugar.

This festival is celebrated every year in the month of Feb or March. The fair started by Mandi raja Ajbar Sen. Fair celebrated at paddal ground, Mandi.

Minjar Fair, Chamba distt.

This is one of the famous fair of the Chamba district. This festival was firstly started in the 17th century by the local king of the Chamba sahil verman and after that this festival celebrated every year in the month of July and continues for the 14 days. This fair is sign of the love between the brother and sister. When this fair started than sister puts a red colour thread on the shirt of her brother and prays for his long life. And on the last day of this this is flown in the Ravi River.

On the last day when you visit than there is a large show of the different Gods of the Chamba are taken across the historical ground to the Ravi River and the son of the king is sited on the elephant. And in the night there are cultural program takes places.

The main attractions of the fair are exhibition, enjoyment adventure and cultural shows.

Renuka Fair, Sirmaur district

This is one of the famous fair of the Sirmaur district. This festival was celebrated on the bank of the Renuka Lake in Renuka. It comes every year in the month of November. Inaugurated on the eve of the Devpramodini Akadshi and it is visited by lakhs of tourists every year and continues for the several days. This festival was firstly celebrated during the Mahabharata times. This festival is celebrated in the memory of Parshu Ram's mother Devi Renuka and for her sacrifice. It has very interesting story regarding this festival.

When this festival begins than the idol of the Lord Parshu Ram is taken form the temple and is bathed into the Renuka Lake and on the last day is taken back to the temple. In the night, cultural program were also performs by the local artist.

There is a lake and also a big zoo in which there are so many animals like tigers and bear are present, so it is good place for the wondering.
